The Way We Were – 59 Years Ago

Our first church newsletter, “The Church at Work,” was mailed to “out of town members, shut-ins, new-comers to our community and active members” in February 1964. It was a mimeographed self-mailer, on a 8-1/2” x 14” sheet.  The front offered a brief welcome from the Stewardship & Finance Committee.  They noted, “…a venture such as this…used successfully in many churches, may be one which you will like, and, if so, we will be happy to know about it.”  The monthly calendar shared the back side with the simple return address: The North Congregational Church, New Hartford, Connecticut.
