On Monday, 3/7, Mary Wilson and Donna Howard were delivering the clothes and medical supplies for Ukrainian refugees that we (and Fran Phelps!) donated to the Ukrainian National Home in Hartford. Donna was piling up boxes and bags from her car, when she noticed the guy bent over working next to her. She leaned down and asked, “Is that you?!!” He laughed, “Yeah, it’s me.” It was Scott Haney, chief weatherman at Channel 3 TV. Donna introduced herself, said we’re from North Congregational Church in New Hartford and asked, “Can we take a selfie with you for our church website and Facebook page?” Scott actually took the selfie because he has the longest arms. He said “I can’t believe you came all the way from New Hartford to help. Tell everyone at your church how much your help matters.”
